Mission Statement

As Good as Gold – Golden Retriever Rescue of Illinois is dedicated to the rescue, care and adoption of Golden Retrievers and golden mixes who are in need. In addition, As Good as Gold educates Golden Retriever guardians and the general public about the importance of spaying/neutering, positive training methods, diet and exercise, appropriate medical treatment and humane care.

Meet the winners of As Good as Gold’s annual photo contest. Here are the TOP TWELVE as voted on by the public. Although all the contestants were worthy candidates, the TWELVE here are the TOP DOGS. You can choose any one of the twelve and put their picture on your choice of a bottle of wine or candle. There are several varietals of wine to choose from, just click on the link below to learn all about the wine.

This year due to our candle supplier retiring, the stock of candles is limited.  While we are looking for another vender, we still have several scents that are available. The candle choices are Fresh Fallen Leaves, Autumn Wreath, Autumn Woods, Balsam & Cedar, or Lavender. The candles are made of soy wax and are eco-friendly. This year you also have the opportunity to choose a special edition label with the As Good as Gold logo for your products. The funds raised from the contest and the product sales go to support rescued goldens. The wine and candles will make wonderful gifts and your support will help us rescue and rehome more dogs.

To purchase more than one product such as a bottle of wine and a candle at the same time, please follow these directions.  Please add your first choice in the shopping cart after making your selection at the link above.  When that product is in the shopping cart and you want to add an additional item, click the "Continue Shopping" button at the top of the shopping cart on a phone, or at the top or bottom of the screen if you are on a computer.  Next click either the picture of the candle or the picture of the wine label to make your next selection. Pick Up and Shipping 

All As Good as Gold “Pick-up” wine orders are taken weekly through Tuesday and made available for pick-up or packaged for shipping on the Thursday of that same week.  Orders are available for pick-up on Thursdays from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM.  We may be off-site at an event, so please email Tim Walker at Tim@aspenlanewinecompany.com to confirm your pick up time. If the Thursday pick-up time is inconvenient, you can also email Tim Walker at tim@aspenlanewinecompany.com to schedule a pick up time that best works for you.  You may also have your wine delivered to your home or office by checking the UPS Ground Delivery option during checkout.  Orders will be shipped by Saturday of each week, if not before.  Shipping fees vary based on location and amount of product ordered.
